Wine tour:
Chile is characterized by having the world's best wines. All the wines are exported to several countries and are elected by people with great taste for this alcohol.
The finest wines are born in the central valley of the country, in the area of Colchagua. Chileans and tourists can travel to that place to test the best wine and to make the famous wine route.
One of the most famous wine yards of the country is “Concha y Toro” makes it one of the most entertaining routes. Visitors walk the first large fields of grapes to see how the wine is born. Then go to the wineries and see how it prepares the best wine in the world. Finally, they can eat at a place and try wines they produce.
Prices for this route are not expensive for what it is entertaining and interesting. They recommend!!!

Beach tour:
Papudo is one of the oldest beaches in the Central Coast of Chile, located at almost 200 kilometers from Santiago. In Papudo we can find a lot of hotels, motels, hostels, restaurants, discoteques, a yacht club and two beaches with clear water and fine sand. One of those beaches, wich name is the “Big Beach”, is located in the north of Papudo and it’s famous because of its golden sand. The “Small Beach” has quieter water, special for swimming and doing water sports, like surf.
The only way to reach to Papudo is through the coastal road. If you come from the south, you have to pass across Zapallar and if you come from the north you have to take the 5 road.

Shopping tour:
The best destination for shopping in Santiago, is the west side of the city. There you can visit the malls Parque Arauco or Alto Las Condes, where you can find hundreds of stores to shop. Another option is Providencia, there you can shop at Dos Caracoles, an spiral building where you can find a bunch of clothing and accesories stores. If you want more alternative clothing, you can go to Lastarria district, in the heart of the city, where you can find the most exclusive clothing in Santiago. If what you want is to save money, you should definitely go to Patronato street where clothes have really low prices. No doubt, all of these places are good options to be in fashion.

Story in past tense

Yesterday I got up at 8 o'clock in the morning. I went to university. I had a test and then I went to the production company where I work. In the afternoon I did two interviews for the television program where I work. On the night I met my friends from childhood and we went to dance.

By Constanza.

Yesterday I woke up at 11 o'clock. I looked through the window and the day was beautiful and the sun was shining, so I got out of my bed immediately. I opened the window, turned up the music and dressed up. I ate some fruit quickly, I took my bike and I went outdoors. I rode my bicycle to the Forestal Park. There were a lot of people. I met a couple of guys who were giving little dogs to the people. They found them in the street, fed and cleaned them. "They are so nice", I thought. I wanted to sell second hand clothes, but the police was there, so I couldn't. So I visited a friend. I went to her house and we spent a lot of time watching old videos on YouTube. We laughed a lot. Then I went home and I went to bed again.

For a long time ago, it is a custom for me and my family to spend the Saturday evening in a different park of the city.
Last Saturday I went to a new different park, it was very nice, with so many things to do, for example with my sister, we played a soccer match with another group of people, who also spend the evening in that place.
After that game, my parents bought some coke and cookies and we had a very nice pic- nic, we spent a very nice moment, all together, laughing and talking about so many things.
I really loved those days because it is a very good opportunity to spend time together.

Last Thursday I got up at 6:30 am to go to college. I took a shower but I couldn’t take breakfast because I was late. Then I ran to the subway to get as fast as I could to the college.
At lunch I went to my mother’s office and we ate together. In the afternoon I went to the house of my best friend and we saw a movie. In the evening I finished a paper for my communication class and then I went to sleep.

INTO DE WILD
Into the wild is a mystery and drama film because the main character, Christopher McCandless, goes in search of happiness in Alaska.
This young man left all -his savings, education, family and society - to undertake a long journey that takes him to the heart of Alaska.
This movie leaves a great message and teaches the public that dreams can be achieved but not always have the results one expects.

21

It is a thriller based on a true story about 6 MIT’s students who are trained to become experts in cards counting to beat the Las Vega’s Casino system.
The main character is Ben Campbell a young and intelligent student that is waiting for a scholarship to transfer to Harvard School of Medicine, but is very difficult to get it, so he decides to be part of a counting team lead by professor Micky Rosa.
Ben begins to realize the joys of a new lifestyle, seduced by the money and his teammate Jill. But also is pursued by the casino guards, who are responsible for catching those who cheat in the game.
I recommend this movie because it is a very interesting story about young and intelligent students that put their lives to the limit to get all the money they possibly can.

My neighborhood

My neighborhood, located in the commune of Santiago, has many green areas. That´s because it´s near the Forestall Park and the Bustamante Park. It has also a lot of cultural activity. The Fine Arts Museum, the movie theatre “El Biógrafo”, and a large variety of literary coffee places, are close at hand. This way, you can enjoy pleasant afternoon walks that include a lot of different places to visit. In the other hand, the Lastarria St. has many exclusive shops, restaurants, and hip pubs, which is why it´s so attractive, especially for foreigners. Also, the place where I live in is a bohemian neighborhood. The night activity is very dynamic. In the surrounds we have the Bellavista sector, where there are a big amount of bars, pubs, discotheques and restaurants where you can go out dancing and have a moment of quality entertainment.

I live in Las Condes, it’s located in the eastern side of Santiago. I live near one of the biggest avenues of the city: Apoquindo. My apartment is located in Luis Rodriguez Street, a little and quiet one. There are only two big buildings, I live in one of them, in the eighth floor. So near of my house is the last subway station “Military School”, and the buses pass almost out of my apartment. So I think this is a very good location. There is a Market, a Video Store, a library and a restaurant just a short walk from my house. But it’s a quiet place too, from the other side, there are little streets with trees and grass, so this place is special to take a ride in bicycle, and I like it so much.

I live in Vitacura. My area is very quiet and familiar. In this area there are many buildings, but too many trees and parks, making it a very nice and pleasant place to live.
My house has a large garden that at this time is full of flowers. Every weekend we do barbecues with my family. Is very entertaining and relaxing!!!
From my room you can see very well Manquehue hill, I like that a lot and makes me feel that I am not immersed in the city all the time. My area is a great area to live by their green areas, such as the Bicentennial Park, and family life!!!

By Florencia.

The area where I live is not really special. It’s a very quiet and pleasant neighborhood. A few years ago was the best place of Providencia, but all the classical architecture of the place was destroyed.
Still, it's a nice place and very central. You have the subway a couple of steps and two great park where one can go for a walk. There are also two cafes where you can eat delicious cakes on Sundays morning.

Chilean school system

Since 2004, the chilean school system has been guide by an integrative model of education. It is made up of one ciycle of primary school that last eight years and once cycle of secundary school which last four years. Both are obligatory. There is also a pre-school education system which is not obligatory, but recomended. The school system is regulated by a Constitutional law and also the Constitution recognice the right of education. Gobernmet has to watch over the observance of the right level of education wich is given in every school. Besides, every year the state evaluates the level of every student trough two tests: the SIMCE test and the PSU test. In Chile, there is three kinds of schools: private Schools, public schools and private schools subventioned by the government. Most of schools impose their students to wear uniforms, men use pants, shirt and tie and woman use skirt or a jumper. The reason of this measure is to avoid distinctions among the students and to make the clothing cheaper.

Our future ambitions

I want to be a succesful woman who can display by herself in a competitive world. My favorite area is Televison, because I believe that from that space I would be able to develop my comunication skills and improve all my potencials in human relationships. This instance would also allow me to investigate the structure of society where I am sure rests the answers that we are looking for in order to contribute with the progress everyone expects. On the other hand, is important to underline that televition give us the tools that we need to find new things out, to denounce crimes and acts of injustice, help society and inform people of the things that happened every day in every minute. Globalization give us the chance to use information on our side. Is our responsability not to lose the oportunity that this era has put in the escense of our career.

Now, I’m finishing the college. I have been here for five years. I think I learned a lot. I learned about journalism, rights, people, and relations. But I don’t know if I want to be a journalist the rest of my life. This career is simple for many, so many people think that anyone can be a journalist, I think it too, but good journalists are just a few, that’s the difference. If journalism has something good it is that it open many doors in many places, most of them aren’t the mass media. I like that. I don’t know if I’m going to start to work right now. Next year I want to live in the south of Chile, away from the city and the system and think about my future. Maybe I’m going to teach poor children in a little school, maybe I’m going to make a garden in my house, and maybe I’m going to sell fruits and vegetables. I don’t know. But I want to get back, and after my rest I want to work in a magazine. I think I can do all of this. I hope.

By Paula.

I am finishing my studies in journalism and my interests for the future are to work in any production or television channel because I like the audiovisual area. Also, I want to work for a year to raise money and be able to go to New York to study English because that is my future to know that language is very important and this city is my favorite city in the world.

By Florencia.

I am only steps away from completing my university studies, but I'm not quite sure what I want to do with my life. I’m really young to decide how will be my job or what I will do my whole life. The only thing that is clear to me is the trip that I will do after graduating from college. Then, I would like to study something else to be the best professional that I can be.
